For this picture, which I have used as my main background picture, I have used a friend and a student of the sixth form within Trinity High School.
I have edited this picture slightly as it didn't need too much done to it anyway. I have increased the lighting in the background slightly to make it look brighter and sunnier. I did this because I didn't want the background to be dark and gloomy as the mood of the reader's wouldn't be what I want. I have also increased the contrast in her hair to make it blonder/yellower, so it stands out from the background more. Similarly, I have darkened the colour of her clothes so it would look smarter and also stands out more. I made her stand to her right so it would look more professional and different. by doing this, it'll make the students at the school look more smarter so it influences the readers more. Finally, I wanted the background plain but at the same time look formal and educational so that is why I asked her to stand by a brick wall, to have that influence on the audience reading or looking at the magazine. |
For this picture that I have edited, I enhanced the colouring of the library floor, tables, shelves and books, so it would like fuller and more colourful as in the original picture, it looked dull and limp. I wanted it to have an impression to the audience to make the library look more interesting to what people think it would be. I have chosen this angle as it has a bit of everything in it. It also shows the table, so it look more practical, quiet and to show its a good area to study and do homework or to show that group work gets takes place here. I also got a shot of someone's shoulder to get across that the library does get used by students and its not always known as the 'nerdy' place. I also wanted to bring out the blue on the floor's carpet more as I feel that the blue ties all the colours in the shot together, with the reds, greens, black and yellows. That is one reason why I wanted to enhance and bring out the blue more than the other colours. |

The way I have edited this picture is by enhancing the colours similarly to the picture above, by bringing out more of the red that's situated from the chairs and increasing the lighting that is shining through the window and door. I also darkened the brown/orange colour coming from the desks and table which made this area of the library more warmly and cosy. I made the blue of the carpet a similar but lighter shade as the one in the previous picture. I like how I edited this picture as is it more lighter and colourful than the original picture. I took a picture of the sitting area as it brought out a different perspective of the room. I also contrasted the colours to make there more of an effect to the library and to make it more attracting for the readers or students who read the magazine but doesn't use the library or wants to use it for the future. It makes the library feel and look more like a library as it brings out the calmer and relaxing side where people can sit with friends or on their on own or also where you can do you homework and concentrate.

Although its obvious that I have cropped this picture, I did it to make the main focus, the computers. I brought out the blue to make the computer monitors look more appealing and for the readers to want to use them. Even though the computers doesn't look expensive or posh, I wanted the blue of the screens to be dark but attracting. I also brought out the black from the keyboards and mouse to make there be more depth. I didn't want to keep the computer desk area and the wires neat as I wanted it to show that the computers are used regularly and that its welcoming to anyone who wants to use it. I also wanted the screens from the monitors to be left on to show the audience that the computers in the school do work.
