Front cover layout |
This is how I feel I want the layout of my own music magazine front cover to be. As you can see, I have included a master head, a picture of the model, what readers would expect to find inside the magazine, and adverts. I have decided to use these aspects of front covers because they are mainly what is expected to be involved on a magazine page.
My master head is going to be big, bold, eye-catching and written across the top of the page, so nobody will miss it. (see the page 'inspirational mast head' to see what it will be like). On the left hand side of the page, there will be text to give the readers snippets of the most interesting stories that they intend to find within the pages. I don't want there to be too many snippets as I so not want to spoil everything that will be included. The picture of the model will be covering the whole page so it will be the first thing the audience will see. I have decided that I want the cover picture to be a mid shot of the chosen model and for her to be wearing pop type clothes. I want the model to be dressed similarly to Taylor Swift as she has been huge in the music industry and she is the 'one to watch'. For the adverts at the bottom, I will just include things that will relate to the music industry but won't be influential in the magazine. It will just be one or two adverts to peek the audience's interest. |
double page spread layout |
The double page spread is a simple, ordinary double page spread but I will make it look professional and sophisticated. It includes the mast head which is going to relate to the article and the theme for the DPS on one side of the page, and a picture of the same model spread across the two pages.
On the other side of the page I have chosen there to be the title of the article, a sub heading or a quote that is about the interview that I will write about. It is going to be a bigger font size than the article but smaller than the main title. The last aspect of the page that I have included is the actual interview itself. I have decided for it to be about the music in general and for it to be unbiased. It will include facts and hopefully statistics about the pop genre and their competitors. |
contents page layout |
My contents page will consist of the master head, sub heading of 'features', the actual contents list, a photo of my chosen model and one or two adverts relating to the music genre of pop.
The master head will be big and bold with fancy font so it will be attracting to the readers when they turn to this particular page. The title will be positioned across the top of the page with the letters spread out slightly, giving it a bit of originality. The sub heading of 'features' will be clearly seen on the left hand side of the page guiding the readers to where the contents list will be. The actual contents list will be number pointed by what page number the story will be shown on. the most important and interesting stories will be on the contents page. The features and it's description will be two separate colours making it easy for the readers to see what the feature is and what is so interesting about it, but only a snippet of the story/article will be shown. The photo of the model, I have decided for it to be a long shot which includes a unique setting as a background. I also want the model looking away from the camera lens with a playful expression embedded onto her face to show the audience that this magazine is not a serious. |
