my front cover plan
For my front cover plan, I have thought about how im going to lay out my page. I also thought about what i would want to include on my front page.
I wanted to have a header/title on the top of my page, preferably the name of the school 'Trinity High School'. I didnt know at the time what font style I wanted, knowing I couldn't have 'Times New Roman' I decided I wanted to use 'Verdana' on my actual front page. I wanted to use this style as it looked classic, smart and not full-on. I knew I wanted to use one of my friends to use as my main picture in the middle of the page, symbolising the school with the way she dressed, stood and I also wanted a background that was plain and not distracting but relating to the school so I used a part of the building from the school. I wanted her to be the only relevant picture on the page so the audience's eyes would focus on her and nothing else, realising that this is a school magazine. For the main stories, which is what the actual school paper includes, to also make it informative as I didn't the magazine to just be with pictures and nothing really about the school. I wanted the stories to be related to the stories that currently was in the school paper at the time I designed the plan, so it would be relatable and believable too. I also had a little section for social media which I know the school has and uses. I put the main social networks 'Twitter' 'Facebook' and 'Youtube' which the school uploads a lot of videos when they hold different events e.g. productions, events and end of term/year performances that they are really keen on. Finally, i wanted to put a picture of the school at the bottom of the page that so the audience knows what school this magazine is from or the students its aimed at. I wanted it to be small so its not the focus of the page but big enough so the reader's would notice it too.

my contents plan
At the top of the page I wanted to put the title 'Contents' in bold and big so the audience would know what page it would be on. I didn't really want too much on the page when i was planning it as i thought that the contents page was just for the pages different events or school topics were on. I wanted down the side, bullet pointed numbers to show the reader's what page different topics would be on. I also researched what type of things that the school newspaper has on its contents page and transform that onto my magazine contents page to make it as realistic as I can. When it came to my actual front cover, I realised how plain the page actually looked when I transformed what I had on my plan to the real thing, it looked plain and simple, which is what i wanted but it didn't look professional and good enough. So I decided to put pictures of the library on to the page to make it look relaxing and different. I also realised that the page began to look more full, and interesting which was better than i planned it to be. On my final contents page, i organised the pictures in a way that would be playful and different for it to be on my contents page.
