I want my magazine front cover to have a similar layout to this Billboard magazine because the positioning of Beyoncé as a model compliments the layout of the text that is around the left hand side of her head. Everything on this cover has been set out intereatingly; having Beyonce on only one side of the front cover, the text by the side of her is in only pink and black telling us that the target audience for this Billboard magazine cover is aimed mainly at girls, mainly teenagers or young asults. Beyoncé has posed for a close-up shot which is one of the shots I aim to use when producing my own magazine front cover. The way Beyonce's hands are positioned is different from all the other poses that I have seen on front covers. One hand is by her hair-line, probably to make the audience focus more on her hair and the way it is styled, also her other hand is positioned where her heart is but I think it is more to show the bracelet/jewllery that is on her hand, which is simple yet sophisticated, like the pose Beyonce is doing on the cover. The only thing that I want different for my magazine is for the master head 'Billboard' to be behind my model's head, not in front and in the way as it is distracting to see bright, bold colours on the master head that is sitting on the models forehead that has been edited black and white.

This magazine front cover model's the singer Lily Allen. The way she is positioned on the cover is in the middle to show that she is the main attrcation. The close-up shot that has been taken of her doesn't involve her clothes so it shows that the pull factor for this specific magazine of Lily Allen isn't about fashion and beauty as much as it is about her and her music. The way her head is angled shows an edgy side to her in a way and her facial expression isn't serious or playful but theres a look of passion in her eyes that is captivating the audience. Her hair colour and her head band compliments the shading in the background as it looks as though the colour and theme has been thought out carefully and professionally. I like the way that the colour on the magazine isn't bright and in your face but complimenting and restricts to more than three colours which will be too distracting as it gives a sheen to Lily's face. I like this cover because of the colour of it and the way that it is subtle but edgy as well and I think that would be good for my magazine front cover also.

The close-up shot of Taylor Swift on this front cover is different from the other two covers. She is posing by standing sideways but her eyes are looking straight on into the camera to make it look like she is looking at the audience. Her windswept hair gives the pose more of a dramaticness to the cover making it look more appealing. The background is dark and mysterious which contrasts with Taylor, who is light and confronting as this makes the magazine look more playful and daring to take risks. The text is in gold/yellow colouring which matches Taylor's hair the most to make the theme look more angelic and uplifting. Her hands are against the wall but in an unobvious way to show an edge to her character. Taylor's head is covering the masthead, like Lily Allen's, so its not distracting as the audience would know what popular magaine this is. The text that is placed around Taylor is in white or yellow to compliment Taylor more than the actual shoot, depending on what message the producers and editors wants to get across. I like the positioning Taylor is in as it gives originality to the cover and I also like the colour of the page as it shows the light and the dark to Taylor and the magazine which is endearing.
